JOB SUMMARY
The Geographic Information Systems Technician in Asset Management is responsible for providing a high level of technical support for the data conversion and/or creation of spatial data in support of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for SAWS Asset Management Program. Prepares GIS mapping projects to illustrate linear and vertical utility projects, qualify findings, and analyze for cause and effect. This position manipulates a variety of related data to produce digital and hardcopy GIS products. This position assists in the update of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) water main failure prediction model using data stored in the GIS and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Subject to walking, sitting, bending, and stooping to perform job scope. Working conditions are primarily indoors with limited exposure to outdoor adverse weather and traffic conditions and other safety/health hazards. Also operates a SAWS vehicle and equipment on a periodic basis.
