San Diego County Credit Union is Hiring a Facilities Technician Near Center, CA

Position Summary

The position of Facilities Technician is established to coordinate and oversee projects related to Credit Union facilities including providing support and expertise regarding security alarm systems, CCTV systems, access control systems, guard services, maintenance, contractor work, and repairs. Maintain quality service standards set by the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional, efficient, and proactive customer service at all times for internal and external customers.
  • Manage facility repair and maintenance, assist with budget preparation, coordinating contractors, and directing site activities.
  • Consult with vendors and consultants to identify needs, and develop solutions for facility management issues.
  • Assist with review, development, and implementation of facilities management and safety procedures, including maintenance activities and emergency plans.
  • Oversee facilities vendors, including the communication of work schedules, establishment and monitoring of performance objectives, and recommendations for professional development.
  • Conduct site and maintenance procedure assessments to report conditions and ensure compliance to government regulations.
  • Assist, plan and attend and/or conduct maintenance tasks and project meetings .Track progress of Facilities related tasks and projects.
  • Effectively communicate accurate information to the Facilities team.
  • Communicate ideas for improving processes or implementing proactive tactics to management. 
  • Coordinate project work including all aspects of vendor assignments.
  • Prepare Purchase Order forms for approval.
  • Assign tasks for SDCCU maintenance vendors, contractors, vendors and consultants.
  • Meet with contractors at various locations to obtain bids.
  • Investigate and report details of third-party vendor quarterly branch inspections as directed.
  • Supervise and inspect completed contractor work.
  • Maintain and monitor security applications and software.
  • Assist with fire drill coordination and Disaster Recovery.
  • Perform on-call afterhours duties as necessary.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and walk, talk and hear; to reach with hands and arms, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

The noise level in the work environment is moderate.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Experience, Skills)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of experience in building maintenance, to include two years of experience in oversight role, to include vendor management.
  • Strong knowledge and application of building trade competencies.
  • Demonstration of effective analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Working knowledge of building plans and blueprints.
  • Project management using knowledge of planning methodologies and critical path planning desirable.
  • Basic working knowledge of PC/MS Office; general understanding of security systems, CCTV systems, alarm systems and applications.
  • Effective verbal and written communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, plan and guide people and projects to a successful completion.
  • Sufficient planning and organizational skills to meet established deadlines, prioritize and manage multiple complex and concurrent projects.
  • Ability to strategically problem solve and make recommendations using critical thinking, and logic.
  • Ability to follow and interpret instructions as well as communicate and provide instructions to others.
  • Ability to review, coordinate and complete detailed information involving Facilities tasks and project work.
  • Ability to work independently and function under minimal supervision.
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of individuals and departments.
  • Demonstrated ability be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
