San Jacinto College is Hiring a Resource coordinator Near Pasadena, TX

Essential Job Functions :

Identify eligible Perkins students and develop individualized support plans; maintain up-to-date records of student interactions and services provided;

evaluate and monitor student progress; analyze student success metrics.

  • Provide appropriate and timely interventions for eligible Perkins students including emergency resources or the coordination of internal / external supports to ensure holistic student support.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community-based organizations to secure and expand resources and support services for students including the development of a structured intake process and standard MOUs;

ensure effective communication and accountability.

  • Collaborate with college and community partners to recruit students using communication plans, social media, and direct outreach.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of partnerships and services, making appropriate recommendations for improvements.
  • Disseminate information on the activities of the grant, gather and collect evaluation materials for the grant, and report grant outcomes.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to ensure a comprehensive just-in-time emergency fund distribution.
  • Develop, implement, and deliver a program curriculum for identified students that will meet grant objectives.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in support services and in institutional and Perkins programs.

Additional Job Functions :

  • Develop resource materials, presentations, and workshops for students, the college community, and external stakeholders.
  • Provide coaching and support to faculty and staff in implementing strategies to support Perkins eligible students.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by community college students and a passion for improving their educational outcomes.
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads and provide direct support to people in need.
  • Ability to maintain confidential data, records, and student information.
  • Ability to facilitate timely, professional communication and problem-resolution strategies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to establish personal and professional credibility with both internal and external constituents.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills.
  • Must possess personal computer literacy.
  • Maintain processes and systems that improve the quality of customer support services.
  • Ability to coordinate, plan, and implement targeted events and activities.
  • Must have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously with attention to detail and within deadlines.
  • Ability to safeguard sensitive or confidential information and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards including FERPA.
  • Familiarity with data management and reporting systems.

Required Education :

Master’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited college / university.,

Required Experience :

  • Minimum of one (1) year of work experience in community engagement, social services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience working with community-based organizations.

Preferred Experience :

  • Experience working within a community college or university system.
  • Experience regarding issues related to student persistence and completion.
  • Experience serving any of the following : individuals with disabilities, individuals from economically disadvantaged families including low-income youth and adults, individuals preparing for non-traditional fields, single parents, individuals who are out-of-workforce, English learners, individuals experiencing housing insecurity, youth who are in or have aged out of the foster care system, and youth with a parent who is a member of the armed forces.
  • Experience working with and developing MOUs with community-based organizations to provide support and services.

Required Licenses / Certifications :

Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas.

Note : The duties of this position require a physical presence at the assigned on-site work location during unrestricted operations with very limited or no opportunity for remote work arrangements.
