QualificationsRelief bus drivers - must possess a valid Commercial Drivers License with Class B, P, and S endorsements. Must be physically capable to drive a school bus and evacuate students in an emergency.San Juan School District will provide training to acquire a CDL.Relief aides - School bus aides must be physically capable to assist students who ride a school bus and evacuate students in an emergency.Essential Duties & Responsibilities (include, But Not Limited To)Relief bus driver - Transports students to various activities; monitors loading and unloading activities; assures safe and complete de-busing of children; monitors surroundings and environs to detect hazards and prevent hardship; monitors activity and behaviors to assure safety; may administer routine discipline as needed to maintain order and safety.Relief aides -Assists driver and students in operation of lifts for wheelchairs and assisting students; maintains good student conduct on the bus; secures special equipment that may accompany the student.SalarySubstitute Salary ScheduleRelief Driver: $21.40/hr.Relief Aide: $13.87/hr.HoursRelief bus drivers and aides are on-call, as needed employees.
