Sandhills Community College is Hiring a Director of Records and Registration Near Pinehurst, NC

The Director of Records and Registration is responsible for managing registration and academic records processes for the college. The Director is charged with supervising departmental staff and playing a key role in the overall mission of the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management. This position functions include compliance oversight with state and federal reporting, maintaining certain functions within the Self-Service platform, and coordinating the college's graduation processes to include the commencement ceremony. Additionally the Director ensures that the department provides general customer service for the Division of Student Services and Enrollment Management. 
  1. Coordinate registration & purge processes
  2. Supervise the coordination, evaluation and certification of all graduation applications, while overseeing the student graduation process to include rehearsal and ceremony
  3. Assist the Vice President of Student Services in coordinating the graduation event
  4. Supervise & manage the support staff of the department
  5. Provide leadership and develop appropriate recommendations for the implementation of technology to support enhanced services offered through the office of records and registration
  6. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  7. Monitor policies & procedures of the department to ensure alignment with college mission 
  8. Ensure security of academic records
  9. Oversee evaluation of academic credit transferred to the college
  10. Responsible for collecting, recording, maintaining and reporting of student records within FERPA guidelines, e.g., grades, registration data, transcripts, etc.
  11. Coordinate the compilation & transmission of required federal and state reports
  12. Provide training for registration & student information access
  13. Oversee provision of student transcripts
  14. Problem solve the research, analysis and resolution of student disputes as they relate to records and registration
  15. Ensure efficient use of technology for processes and communication
16. Ensure successful maintenance of electronic student records and oversee processes to complete scanning all remaining hard copy records in the vault. 
17. Ensure compliance with retention and disposition of student related records in accordance with federal, state and college policies
  1. Bachelors Degree required
  2. 3 years experience in a higher education environment preferred
  3. Knowledge of Colleague Student Record System preferred
  4. Ability to work effectively and collegiately with students, faculty, and staff
  5. Demonstrated comparable knowledge, skills, experience acceptable
  6. Excellent computer skills, as well as, verbal and written communication skills
  7. Ability to provide excellent customer service
