II. Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Transcribe audio recordings from doctors and other healthcare professionals into accurate, well-formatted medical documents.
- Edit and review transcriptions for grammar, punctuation, and medical terminology errors.
- Ensure that all transcriptions are completed within the specified timeframe.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any unclear or ambiguous dictations.
- Organize and manage transcription files for easy access and retrieval.
- Certification in medical transcription.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Familiarity with different medical specialties.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy in accordance with HIPAA and SMF policies.
- Proven experience as a medical transcriber or similar role.
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills.
- Strong typing skills with high accuracy and speed.
- In-depth knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation.
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency with transcription software and tools.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- The Transcriptionist will be responsible for attending all mandatory training and staying current with advancements in medical transcription technology and software.
- Ability to work in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
