Sandia Resort And Casino is Hiring a GUEST SERVICES SUPERVISOR Near Albuquerque, NM

Position Summary

In addition to performing the standard duties as a Spa Receptionist, the Guest Services Supervisor oversees the spa receptionists as well as the spa attendants to assure exceptional customer service and that all standards are met including service goals, booking goals and retail goals. Assist as Spa MOD in the absence of the Spa Manager or Assistant Spa Manager. As the leader of the customer experience on the sales floor, this position has the primary duty of actively directing and managing front desk customer service and retail sales, and serves as a departmental resource to all other staff. Oversees all spa attendant duties to ensure the facility and environment are maintained in accordance with company expectations.

Supervision Exercised

Reports to the Spa Manager.

Supervises the following personnel:

  • Spa Receptionist(s)
  • Spa Attendant(s)

Major Duties and Responsibilities

  • Ensures that all front desk staff maintain high standards of greeting customers, responding to questions, improving engagement with merchandise and providing outstanding customer service.
  • Handles customer questions, complaints and issues.
  • Maintain retail inventory and ensure items are in stock.
  • Meet financial objective as outlined in annual budget.
  • Assists with the booking of guest appointments.
  • Supervises cashiering activities during shift including cash handling and banking procedure, and instructs staff in credit policies, SMS and POS system policies and procedures and facilities.
  • Supervises and ensures all spa attendants are thoroughly trained and uphold all service standards and the facility and environment are maintained according to departmental standards.
  • Implements and conducts daily stand-ups in accordance with resort and spa goals, as assigned by spa management.
  • Build and maintain superior product knowledge with education provided by spa vendors, trade shows, etc.
  • Assists in setting sales targets, create and drive positive sales environment among all spa staff.
  • Performs other duties as need or required by management.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of the spa industry.
  • Knowledge of Spa products.
  • Ability to supervise others.
  • Excellent customer/guest service skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of various treatments, therapies and services of a spa operation.
  • Ability to resolve customer/guest conflicts.
  • Ability to be well organized.
  • Knowledge of business principles.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience

Required:

  • High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
  • Must have up to (3) years of customer service experience.
  • Must have at least (1) year of past supervisory experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to acquire a liquor certification within first 30 days. (Must be able to handle liquor.)

Preferred:

  • Additional retail experience
  • Prior experience with a spa booking system
  • One (1) year experience in a spa environment

Licensing Status

  • Must be able to successfully pass a Background Investigation.
  • Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.

Working Conditions

  • Work is performed indoors.
  • Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
  • Subject to hazards which may cause personal bodily harm; smoke; diseases; cuts bruises, burns, common cold, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
  • Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
  • Specific required movements include the following:
    • Trunk- bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, carry.
    • Arms – reach, carry, lift, twist, and rotate.
    • Legs – lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate.
    • Hands – Grasp, manipulate bilateral coordination, hand and eye coordination, and overall and finger dexterity.
