Sandpiper Property Mgt is Hiring a Corporate Recruiter/HR Manager Near Richmond, VA

Job Summary:

Support the VP of HR and Sr. Human Resources by primarily being responsible for the recruiting General Manager and above level positions, assisting with onboarding, and maintaining and complete accuracy of their files. The successful candidate will be detailed oriented, have exceptional interpersonal skills and have a passion for recruiting. 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Use various effective sourcing strategies, such as internet job boards, networking, resume mining, social networking, cold calling, campaigns, and other channels to attract a diverse pool of talent.
  • Creating job posting(s) on all social media boards; job posting advertisements
  • Conducting prescreens, interviews and reference checks.
  • Prior use and understanding of Gallup Strength based assessment desired.
  • Ensures the availability and acquisition of appropriate talent in the right number through creative sourcing, with the right skill mix, at the right time and place to meet organizational needs.
  • Establish credibility and remain engaged with hiring leader and senior management to stay abreast of the hiring process and keeping the leader informed of the candidate progress.
  • Ensure recruitment activity is updated in an accurate, compliant and timely manner within the applicant tracking system.
  • Seeks professional development opportunities and continually upgrades HR Technical expertise and consultative skills.
  • Assist with onboarding, including preparing their onboarding training plan and partnerships with the Brand Trainers.
  • Support day to day process in human resources and assist the VP/Sr. HRM, Human Resources in implementing Company strategy, including coaching and counseling recruits, and hiring and retaining the best employees. Assist in reward and recognition programs and training strategies.
  • Directs and recruits for all non-exempt hourly associates throughout the Company
  • Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
  • Conduct all administrative tasks in a timely fashion through conducting employment references on all qualified/screened applicants.
  • Manage and properly maintain all HR records. 

Education:

  • Must have High school diploma or equivalent, or General Education Degree (GED) a college degree preferred. A Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, HR, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or another business-related field preferred. 
  • SHRM accreditation of PHR or SHPR is desired

Experience: 

  • Experience preferably in hospitality, retail, food service or property management field but not required.

Knowledge:

  • General understanding of common office procedures, risk management and safety procedures.
  • Basic understanding of recruitment, payroll functions, knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws. 

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills necessary to communicate clearly with hotel teams and customers via phone and email.
  • Intermediate computer operation including but not limited to accessing data from the internet and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective with organization, management of time, multi-tasking and attention to detail.
  • Relates well with other departments and guests.
  • Creative conflict management.
  • Willingness for collaboration.
  • Effective at working with others to help them achieve their goals.
