Sanford Behavioral Health is Hiring a Clinical Manager - Eating Disorder Near Grand Rapids, MI

The role of the Clinical Manager is to maintain responsibility for all administrative aspects of the clinical facility, oversees the performance of assigned staff through mentoring, redirecting and discipline, and provides appropriate clinical care to clients. This role provides support and training on case files, facilitates weekly client reviews, and aids in the overview of clinical documentation, weekly program schedules, and treatment services.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership in the development and implementation of PHP and residential clinical programs.
  • Provides support in recruiting, training, and ongoing supervision of primary therapists, recreational therapists, and the dieticians.
  • Provides support for carrying out overall clinical programing and adherence to rules, local, state and accreditation regulations and standards.
  • Collaborates with the executive leadership team around program expansion and development efforts.
  • Provides onboarding/initial training for direct report staff and assists with training other staff, as needed.
  • Oversees all clinical and treatment services; provides formal and informal direction to assigned clinicians/interns and assists with developing and conducting clinical programming.
  • Develops and oversees weekly program schedules at the assigned job location to ensure group session coverage.
  • Participates in efforts to provide education in the larger community to raise knowledge and awareness about eating disorders.
  • Updates and revises policies and procedures, as requested by leadership.
  • Reviews program needs and tracks/monitors service implementation to assist executive leadership in ensuring high quality, effective, compliant, patient-centered service delivery that is aligned with organization’s mission.
  • Participates in and helps facilitate interviews for potential clinical/intern candidates at the assigned job location.
  • Conducts annual performance evaluations for all direct reports and works with staff to establish annual performance goals.
  • Troubleshoots challenges/crises in the patient milieu.
  • Collaborates with leadership in providing debriefing/support for patient milieu, primary treatment teams, and floor staff following a crisis.
  • Participates in staff development and training, including staff meetings, in-service trainings and annual trainings required by Sanford Behavioral Health on a timely basis.
  • Assigns new admissions to primary therapists.
  • Provides supervision and support to clients by participating in meals and snack, as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counseling, and/or Clinical Psychology, required.
  • LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT, LLP or similar licensure in the state of Michigan, required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of direct patient care experience working in an eating disorder treatment setting, preferred.
  • 2 years of prior supervisorial responsibilities, required.
  • Experience working in a residential treatment setting, preferred.
