Sanford Federal is Hiring a Project Manager Near Richmond, VA

Talon Veteran Services is a leading government contractor specializing in construction. In this critical role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful execution of our federal government contracts

TRAVEL REQUIRED: 10% of the time approximately

WORK DISCRIPTION

  • Manage all aspects of assigned federal contracts, from kick-off to completion
  • Develop and implement detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines
  • Oversee project teams and ensure efficient use of resources
  • Monitor project progress and identify and mitigate potential risks
  • Manage client expectations and ensure clear communication throughout the project lifecycle
  • Maintain meticulous documentation and ensure compliance with all federal contracting regulations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, procurement, finance, etc.)
  • Analyze project performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Participates in the Post Award Kick-Off, Partnering, Pre-construction, Design Development, and Coordination meetings, as directed, during the conceptual and preconstruction phase of a project.
  • Ensures that no construction begins prior to the Designer of Record (DOR) finalizing the design for each segment of work, and construction submittals are approved as required.

POSITION MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Engineering background preferred.
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in project management, preferably within the federal contracting industry and specifically with Veteran's Administration.
  • In-depth understanding of federal contracting regulations (FAR, DFARS)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of the Federal and State codes, regulations, and standards relevant to construction (including, but not limited to, Federal OSHA and EPA regulations, NFPA Standards, ANSI Standards, and local building codes) and be able to implement these in the field.

  • Have experience in the areas of hazard identification and safety compliance.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely via email and keep up with steady email exchange with the clients daily.
  • Must be able to keep track of status of between 10-20 active projects.
