Sanitas Medical Center is hiring a Full Time Patient Representative Coordinator for our primary care facility in Nashville, TN.
The patient care coordinator helps manage a patient’s healthcare and treatment needs while also maintaining open lines of communication between a patient and their healthcare providers.
This full-time Patient Representative Coordinator is located in our Cool Springs facility in Nashville, TN.

Patient Representative Coordinator Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Welcomes and greets patients, clients, and visitors to the department in a helpful and friendly manner; determines the purpose of visit and directs them to the appropriate person or department.
  • Works closely with other roles at the center to ensure patients receive satisfactory service.
  • Understands and is knowledgeable about the Sanitas Care Model and is responsible for supporting patient flow and minimizing wait times in the lobby.
  • Helps patients address any concerns and works with the Office Manager to resolve patients' inquiries.
  • Completes daily pre-visit planning to confirm scheduled patients are eligible and all demographics are accurate.
  • Updates registration forms and informs patients of the required information to be presented at the time of visit.
  • Responsible for collecting co-pays and outstanding balances at the time of appointment.
  • Compiles and records medical charts, reports, and correspondence.
  • Interviews patients to complete insurance and privacy forms.
  • Receives insurance co-pay payments and posts amounts paid to patient accounts.
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments, check-ups, and physician referrals.
  • Answers telephones and directs calls to appropriate staff.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Protects patient confidentiality, ensuring protected health information is secured by not leaving PHI in plain sight and logging off the computer before leaving it unattended.
  • Assists with daily patient flow in areas as needed.
  • Verifies patient identity by reading patient identification.
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations.
  • Communicates observations of patients' status to the Manager and/or nurse-in-charge.
  • Responsible for ordering medical supplies according to the department's needs.
  • Able to rotate weekends, holidays, and shifts, and center location according to company needs.
  • Participates in staff and department meetings.
  • Shares acquired knowledge and learning.
  • Consistently reports for duty on time.
  • Keeps patients' information private and limits personal conversation in patients' presence.
  • Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with personnel from other departments.
  • Checks medical records and follows up on obtaining missing results before patients' appointments.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Graduate or equivalent required
  • Basic Computer Skills required
  • Customer Service skills and training required
  • 1 years of experience in the medical field required
  • Any combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience
  • 3 years of experience in customer service and the medical field preferred
  • Relevant or any other job-related vocational coursework preferred
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout to be heard above ambient noise level.
