Position/Title: Group Lead Reports To: Supervisor Location: Shakopee, MN FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 9:30pm - 6am Grade Level: Tier 6 - $22.00 per hour (*includes $2/hr shift differential)
Position Summary: A Group Lead is responsible for effectively planning and coordinating workflow for assigned department. The Group Lead ensures proper resource placement as business needs dictate and ensures shipments are processed in proper time frame to meet customer service levels. The Group Lead provides support to other departments at the discretion of the department supervisor and/or manager, as necessary.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Ensure employee productivity standards are being met and product is getting shipped in an accurate and efficient manner.
- May assist with training employees to include, but not limited to, on the job training and safety training as needed.
- Generate and maintain reports, input, or acquire data, as needed to support processes, and ensures that all data is entered consistently and accurately.
- May operate a Radio Frequency (RF) unit in combination with Internal Operating System to perform daily work.
- May be required to operate powered lift equipment.
- Ensures compliance of company policies, procedures, and practices; and supports company safety efforts.
- May at times communicate with trucking company dispatchers to coordinate pick up schedule changes.
- Responsible for checking out equipment and returning in same condition.
- Meet minimum standards and accuracy standards and delivery deadlines.
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Maintain safe, neat, and clean work area by adhering to SanMar safety regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.

- May be required to complete and maintain SanMar's Lift Operator Certification.

- Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Internal Operating System(s) and Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team by setting a good example (i.e., exemplary performance, strong initiative, and strong attention to detail).
Qualifications: - High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to read, write and have sufficient ability to identify colors, sizes, quantity, label, and SKU information.
- Basic math skills in counting and quantity required.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to walk and stand. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, handle or feel, to pull/push, cart with product, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions. The employee is frequently required to climb, kneel/squat, bend and carry. The employee occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds, and seldom lifts and/or moves up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment: Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Employee must be able to work in a high-volume, high-demand environment while meeting strenuous customer deadlines. Employee must be able to change priorities or job duties as needed and interact with employees at all levels.
