Material Handler

Job Purpose:

Performs the physical and administrative tasks involved in the receiving, order fulfillment, storing and distribution of materials, parts, supplies and equipment. Maintains the integrity of inventory levels through regular cycle counts, physical inventory as well as daily transaction completion per company procedure.

Nature of Duties:

• Receives, unpacks and checks materials against purchase orders or invoices
• Maintains records of received materials in computer database and rejects unsatisfactory items
• Stacks or piles materials, such as pallets
• Lifts heavy items and may operate a pallet jack
• Stocks materials in designated storage areas on racks and shelves
• Distributes and collects materials to/from Assemblers on repair lines
• Records data for quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations
• Updates inventory adjustments into computer database
• Troubleshoots quantity discrepancies with Operations and Planning personnel
• Completes monthly cycle count and updates adjustments into computer database
• Notifies appropriate personnel when material quantities are low
• Prepares and participates in yearly physical inventory
• Periodically checks for unsafe conditions and corrects as needed
• Practices proper lifting techniques and safe working habits
• Additional duties as assigned

Education and Experience :

• High School diploma or equivalent required
• 1-2 years experience
• Must have good computer skills
• Must be organized and detail-oriented
• Must be able to use a pallet jack
• Must be reliable
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
