Job Description
Registered Nurse, Triage practices nursing care to patients via the telephone utilizing the nursing process, and exercises judgment based on established protocols for medical/health care information in accordance with the standards defined by the California State Board of Nursing, the American Nurses Association (ANA) and Sansum Clinic. The functions include: triage, providing information and education, identifying resources, consultation and referral, and appropriate follow-up activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Must have a valid license in the State of California as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR certification/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or dually certified in both AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support and AHA Pediatric Advanced Life Support at time of hire is required.
• Minimum of two years general medical/surgical nursing experience augmented with pediatrics, critical care/emergency room experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Excellent assessment skills and crisis intervention skills.
• Strong computer skills.
