Salary Schedule Range: 34
Hours per day: 8
Months per year: 12
Purpose of Position: To serve as the first-level contact point for staff, students, and parents seeking technical support. Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues related to username or password as well as basic hardware and software problems. Manage all support tickets submitted to the District’s helpdesk and escalate problems as required.
Reporting: Reports to the Director of ETS or Chief Educational Technology Officer
Employment Status: Full-time (FLSA non-exempt)
Location: District Administration ETS
Essential FunctionsServe as the initial contact for District staff, students and parents who require technical assistance; create and maintain user accounts as directed; provide service in-person, over the phone or by e-mail.
Diagnose and resolve routine problems with user accounts, passwords, usernames, hardware or software or refer to other ETS staff for resolution.
Operate the help desk customer service call tracking system, identify and escalate service tickets that require urgent attention; respond to inquiries and provide technical information, assistance or referrals.
Compile statistics on reported issues and maintain records related to assigned activities.
Maintain current knowledge of technological advances in the field.
Maintain punctual and consistent attendance.
Other FunctionsPerform related duties as assigned.
Working Conditions & Physical DemandsInside work with no exposure to weather conditions; occasional use of ladders or step-stools; heavy computer use, frequent interruptions, and data entry.
Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone; seeing to read a variety of documents; dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment; bending, stooping, reaching overhead and lifting up to 20 pounds.
Knowledge, Skills And AbilitiesBasic knowledge of computer hardware systems, software applications, mobile devices and common terminology.
Knowledge of customer service practices and telephone and e-mail etiquette.
Ability to serve as a technical resource to District staff, students, and parents.
Ability to evaluate and prioritize service requests in accordance with department standards.
Ability to document problems in writing in a clear, concise manner.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.
Ability to maintain a variety of records, files, and documents.
Ability to meet schedules and timelines.
Education, Training And ExperienceAny combination equivalent to graduation from high school supplemented by college level coursework in business, computer science, computer repair or related field, and one year of customer service experience.
Additional RequirementsValid California Class C Driver’s License.
Successful passage of a skills-based assessment.
Bilingual ability in Spanish is highly desirable.
  • This position is eligible for Language Services premium pay
