Santa Fe DIning, Inc is Hiring a Director of Human Resources and Payroll Near Santa Fe, NM

Position Summary: The Director of Human Resources is responsible for managing and overseeing all human resources, payroll and benefits administration for The Peters Corporation, with centrally located offices in Downtown Santa Fe.


Compensation:
Exempt, salaried


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Administer HR policies and practices. Modify and maintain procedures, policies, forms and metrics as needed
  • Administer personnel policies in a fair and consistent manner
  • Assist management in resolution of personnel matters. Consult legal counsel as needed to ensure compliance with federal and state law.
  • Manage the payroll function including the bi-weekly processing. Work closely with Payday, the third-party payroll system administrator
  • Oversee the benefits programs and the administration of insurance benefits including health, vision, dental, life, AD & D, long term disability, workers' compensation insurance and flexible spending accounts. Ensure benefits are compliant with applicable laws. Maintain relationships with insurance brokers and providers.
  • Manage the 401(k) Retirement plan, including, but not limited to plan administration, 5500 reporting and non-discrimination testing
  • Develop and maintain knowledge related to all laws, regulations and statues governing human resources and benefits.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices. Reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Communicate with executive team to determine staffing goals and expectations
  • Collaborate with executive management to fulfill staffing requirements and provide recruitment assistance
  • Develop and implement department budget
  • Analyze wage and salary data from the human resource information system and communicates information to executive management
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels, vendors, agents and other third-party providers
  • Track and manage NM Alcohol Server Card compliance and card expirations, NM Food Handler permits and expirations, assists with the Responsible Alcohol Service class attendance and trainings, organizes and provides Harassment training.
  • Evaluate, develop and manage HR systems to ensure compliance and meet the current & expected future requirements of the organization


Qualifications & Characteristics:

  • Excellent communication skills, including the skills necessary to deal tactfully and professionally with other employees, restaurant management, corporate management and the board of directors
  • Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulatory requirements, HR policies and practices. Experience in leading, developing and executing HR projects and programs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle and resolve confidential and sensitive situations and issues of a complex nature while providing flexible solutions
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Experience with Payday software
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to use the Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills. Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate as appropriate.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with complete confidentiality and professionalism
  • Spanish speaking a plus
  • Must provide current/active identification to work in the United States


Working Conditions

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods, stand, walk, reach with arms and perform repetitive hand and wrist motions. The position also requires bending, twisting, and lifting to twenty-five (25) pounds.
