Family Support Worker (Full-Time)
Santa Maria Community Services is a catalyst and advocate for Cincinnati’s Greater Price Hill families to attain their educational, financial, and health goals. We provide more than 3,000 individuals with educational tools and resources to build strong families, promote healthy residents, and foster neighborhood revitalization. Santa Maria’s vision is for Greater Price Hill to be a vibrant, thriving, and self-sustaining community. Our Price Hill Family Centers provide a welcoming environment and the coaching, support, and flexibility to assist families to achieve their identified goals toward stabilization and self-sufficiency. We are currently looking for a Full-Time Family Support Worker to help support our mission.
Overview: This position is part of our Every Child Succeeds program and works with families in their home to provide an optimal start for children by promoting positive parenting and healthy child development prenatally and during the important first 1,000 days of life.
This position pays $22.22 per hour.
Essential Functions:
Maintain a caseload of 25 families delivering on average 45 home visits a month
- Participate in required trainings and certifications through SMCS, Every Child
Succeeds, and HMG
- Record participant progress toward goals in required databases and program documents within 48 hours of contact
- Connect families with community resources
- Be available one evening a week or a weekend day as needed to meet the needs of
families that have daytime commitments
- Serve as an advocate to families
- Establish and maintain caring and consistent relationships with families through
an open-minded and non-judgmental attitude
- Assist participants with resolving barriers that impact their goals
Other Functions (include but are not limited to):
- Contribute to effectiveness of the department and overall mission of Santa Maria
- Adhere to agency policy, procedures and the professional code of ethics.
- Seek relevant training opportunities for professional growth and development.
- Participate in regular staff meetings, staff training programs and supervisory sessions.
- Satisfactorily complete any other special assignments as requested by supervisor
- Provide internal and external referrals for services
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
Case management experience.
