CNA Patient Transport Driver

Santa Monica Convalescent Center is looking for a dynamic CNA Patient Transport Driver with a CDL to join our clinical team and provide our residents with an exceptional care experience. As the Patient Transport Driver you will provide driving services for the transportation needs of our residents. This position will be driving a company van with a wheelchair lift and providing assisted, safe passage for those in need.

Responsibilities:

• Drives van to transport residents to and from scheduled group activities and individual appointments.
• Coordinates driving schedule to ensure residents arrive on time to scheduled appointments and outings.
• Maintains and completes daily inspections and minor van maintenance (check oil level, wiper fluid level, etc.) to ensure safety of vehicle and passengers.
• Assists residents in and out of vehicle; assists in securing passengers safely.
• Serves as a key representative of the community and makes an active contribution towards community relations and public regard by driving safely and adhering to all traffic laws.
• Assists Administrator (NHA) with administrative tasks as assigned.
• Maintains vehicle cleanliness.

Experience:

• Ability to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, short correspondence and memos
• Ability to lift patients and help move wheelchair or additional patient care equipment in and out of vehicle.
• Background clearance and TB screening required.
• Compassion for the elderly and commitment to hospitality and service.
• Positive and nurturing personality, a true want to help and care for those in need.
• Team oriented and collaborative spirit.
• Experience in long-term, skilled nursing care a plus, but not required.

License/Certification:

• CDL License and Valid CA Drivers License with clean driving record required.
• Current CNA certification in state of CA required.
