Job Title: Scrum Master (FULLTIME WITH THE DIRECT CLIENT)
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled Scrum Master to join our team and guide our Agile development processes. The Scrum Master will be responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of Scrum principles and practices, facilitating communication, and removing impediments to the team’s progress. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and a proven track record of leading successful Scrum teams.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Support the product owner: Assist with managing the product backlog, ensuring clear communication of requirements, and helping prioritize tasks.
- Remove impediments: Identify and address any obstacles or issues that may hinder the team’s progress.
- Coach the team: Mentor and guide the team on Agile best practices, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles.
- Promote collaboration: Foster a culture of open communication and collaboration within the team and with stakeholders.
- Track progress: Monitor team performance through metrics such as burndown charts and velocity, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Continuous improvement: Encourage and support the team in continuous improvement efforts, identifying and implementing process enhancements.
- Maintain Agile tools: Ensure the effective use of Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello) for tracking tasks and progress.
- Facilitate stakeholder communication: Act as a liaison between the development team and stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Ensure quality: Promote best practices for software quality, including test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD).
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar role in an Agile environment.
- Certification: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of Scrum, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecycle.
- Skills: Excellent facilitation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Tools: Proficient in Agile project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Trello, Confluence).
- Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and coach Agile teams effectively.
- Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remove obstacles and drive team success.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical background: Experience in software development or a related technical field.
- Scaled Agile: Experience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other scaling Agile methodologies.
- Additional certifications: PMI-ACP, PSM, or other relevant certifications.
