Position Overview: As a General Manager, you will oversee the overall sales growth and profitability of a specific department within our location. Reporting to the President of Travel Center, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining operational excellence and driving our team towards success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews and select top talent to build a high-performing team.
  • Lead weekly staff meetings and inspire sales associates to achieve targets.
  • Investigate and resolve cash shortages and inventory discrepancies.
  • Mentor and coach direct reports to effectively address operational challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with company recruitment processes and protocols.
  • Monitor and reconcile gasoline sales and other financial transactions.
  • Maintain an updated schedule and approve vacation requests.
  • Attend safety and department head meetings to uphold safety standards.
  • Oversee facility cleanliness through regular inspections and vendor interactions.
  • Manage capital improvement budgets and set ambitious sales goals.
  • Analyze repair and maintenance costs to optimize profitability.
  • Collaborate across departments to understand operational issues and ensure deadlines are met.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent required. Preferred qualifications include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business administration, hospitality management, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in general management within retail or restaurant settings.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage large teams and facilities.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and other relevant software.
  • Ability to make quick, decisive decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
