Work closely with a world-class team of Data Scientists and Engineers to build out a Market Intelligence Platform using Python and Java amongst other cutting-edge technologies.

First up, you’re going to be working on building a platform for commodities trading. We appreciate this kind of environment isn’t for everyone. That said, if you’re interested in having a huge impact on the development process of the core data platform of the business, this could be perfect for you.

You’re going to be paid well, a salary up to $160,000 and a bonus which could potentially be the same as your salary if your performance and company performance is strong. All of your healthcare, medical, retirement and life insurances are taken care of and you can work from home up to 2 days a week if you like. You’ll be given a platform to learn and develop whilst maintaining a good work/life balance.

Projects will include the implementation of a new data management platform. Traders and Data Scientists will use this to ingest huge amounts of data from various sources. You will provide operational and engineering support to all projects and play a key role in the overall build of the platform. 75% of your time will be project focussed whilst 25% will be supporting.

You’re going to need to have a strong background in Python and SQL as well as a good understanding of Java. Essentially, the legacy code is written in Java however all the enhancements and development will be done in Python. You will then leverage modern technologies like Snowflake, BitBucket, SnapLogic, AWS technologies and IaC tools.

This is an essential role within this team and you’ll be given plenty of autonomy and responsibility to act on your own ideas and mentor others within the team. Future projects are likely to be defined by you, that you will lead in collaboration with your team and the data scientists.
