Summary of Position: This position provides clinical training and support of clinical information systems for Saratoga Hospital Medical Group to optimize and ensure safe and efficient patient care in all clinical areas. This position will ensure effective and optimal utilization of information technology to drive quality and safe patient care.
Primary Job ResponsibilitiesClinical Education Resource: Serves as an educational resource to clinical staff providing technical and evidence based practice guidelines in the development of educational programs. Develops innovative methods for meeting educational needs of clinical staff. Ensures staff and physicians are effectively using EMR to optimal levels.
Clinical Quality Improvement: Participates in coordinating patient care improvement projects that use technology applications to drive quality and safe patient care. Analyzes data and develops reports to demonstrate clinical quality and identify opportunities for improvement.
Clinical System Analysis and Design: Analyzes current clinical practice and workflow, documentation tools and the impact of an informatics solution on workflow. Collaborates with leadership and staff to assess current practice and their understanding of the use of technology for advancing clinical care.
Project Management: Provides leadership in the planning, development and implementation of clinical IT programs. Ensures effective documentation is maintained and project completion is reflected in the strategic plan deliverables.
Clinical Information System Implementation: Participates in the implementation of new clinical modules and technology. Provides support and training to end users in preparation for new technology. Collaborates with project team members to plan and coordinate the effective and timely roll out of new clinical applications.
System Reporting: Designs reports and forms as necessary to replace manual methods of documentation.
Education Program Development: Collaborates with patient care departments to identify training needs and provide resources to address training gaps.
Program Development: Develops and implements technology and educational activities to enhance the quality of nursing practice. Provides support and training in the use of technology in providing clinical care.
Minimum Qualifications: MSN required. Current NYS nursing license. Minimum five (5) years' experience in clinical nursing. Minimum one (1) year experience in informatics. Minimum of one (1) year experience in clinical education, staff development and/or teaching required. Curriculum development and instructional design experience preferred.
Salary Range: $32.68 - $54.63
