**Label Packer/Finisher ~ 2nd Shift**

**SUMMARY:** Package finished product according to customer specifications. Performs all warehouse functions with a very high degree of accuracy and speed in response to customer needs. Receives, stocks, picks, and ships all items maintained in inventory, both in-house and customer-owned, according to customer specifications. Responsible for providing customers with a quality, professionally packaged product in a timely manner.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:**

* Reads, reviews and understands the assigned and scheduled jobs according to detailed specifications from the job tickets, spec sheets, and customer spec sheets, in order to accurately pack the finished product.

* Retrieves computer-generated customer orders from designated office workstations and begins the order fulfillment process according to the particular customers specifications and instructions in a timely and accurate manner. (Fulfillment)

* Picks items in sequence and in the correct quantities on each order; adjust any item quantities on orders which do not match the order items picked. (Fulfillment)

* Signs each order, then completes the packing process-making appropriate boxes, placing items picked in plastic or jiffy bags or boxes, all according to the particular customers specifications. (Fulfillment)

* Fills out the matching packing slip placing it either in the bag or box or taping the packing slip envelope on the side of box number one in multiple box orders. (Fulfillment)

* Determines when necessary how the packaged materials are to be shipped and fills out the appropriate paperwork according to the kind of shipment (UPS, commercial freight carrier, express, air, etc.). (Fulfillment)

* Performs physical inventory counts as deemed necessary by the MIP Customer Service Inventory Coordinator or Packaging/Fulfillment Supervisor.

* Completes any required paperwork, logging entries, matching bills of lading, etc., and returns all office paperwork/orders to the designated office workstations.

* Receives and verifies quantities of replenished or new inventory items/products, completes all required paperwork; places inventory items/products in the correct locations, and tags those items with surplus quantities stored in another location. (Fulfillment)

* Handles house forms inventory items as needed. Receiving, issuing & counting-house forms inventory items as needed. (Fulfillment)

* Sets up the required packaging equipment in the correct manner pursuant to the job specifications and material requirements.

* Performs all necessary written internal and external documentation with complete and accurate information as required by internal procedures, customer specifications, and freight vendor guidelines.

* Prepares all required labels utilizing available computers and printing equipment.

* Labels all cartons, and shipping boxes as required.

* Packs the finished product according to the job specifications, customer instructions, and shipping requirements utilizing appropriate materials and procedures in order to eliminate waste, spoilage, and excess shipping costs.

* Measures and weighs the packaged finished product accurately for appropriate completion of the required written documentation.

* Delivers the job to the next workstation with the appropriate written documentation.

* Works with MIP Customer Service/Inventory Coordinator to complete physical inventory annually.

* Communicates and works with co-workers in a positive and productive manner by utilizing the log books and professional verbal communication.

* Performs all assigned work efficiently, and on schedule.

* Follows written and verbal instructions accurately.

* Limits waste of materials and supplies.

* Keeps work/inventory area neat and clean.

* Restocks shipping materials as needed.

* Takes care of equipment following specified work procedures/maintenance records.

* Works with shipping personnel to coordinate outbound shipments as needed.

* Reports accurately time and materials consumption.

* Reports all problems to Packaging/Fulfillment Department Lead Operator.

* Comes to work when assigned and on time; works overtime when requested according to company rules.

* Performs other duties as assigned by Packaging/Fulfillment Department Lead Operator.

* Performs job duties in accordance with all corporate work policies and procedures, and Federal, state, local, and company safety rules.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS:**

- Ability to read & write legibly. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to use good judgment and ability to make wise decisions related to prioritizing work functions, including those dealing with dimensions and quantity, customer deadlines, specifications, etc.

- Level of work activity is usually heavy involving lifting and exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with the aid of lifting equipment, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

- Position requires the ability to operate packaging equipment, shrink wrap machine, automatic tape machine, a manual keyboard with both alpha and numeric characters, a pallet jack, and an L-Sealer/Tunnel machine. Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform repetitive manual tasks. Manual dexterity and excellent eye/hand coordination are required to safely manipulate equipment settings, utilize hand tools, move carts and skids with the finished products throughout the plant. Must be able to move freely on foot throughout the plant, stand for sustained periods of time, and perform pushing, pulling, stooping, reaching, and lifting functions.

**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:**

* The candidate must be a high school graduate or GED equivalent.

* One to two years of warehouse or inventory experience desired and the use of power equipment such as forklifts, narrow aisle reach trucks, or the ability to become certified. Previous computer experience (Mac & PC) desirable.

* Able to read, write legibly, follow verbal and written instructions, count, and perform simple mathematical calculations.

* Qualified candidates must be able to pass pre-employment physical, basic skills tests & drug test.
