POSITION SUMMARY:
The Surveillance Technician, under the direction of the Surveillance Tech Supervisor I, is responsible for the installation, troubleshooting and repair and maintenance of the surveillance equipment and for updating surveillance equipment and vendor files.

Immediate peers, peers in other departments, immediate supervisor/manager, managers in other departments, executives, Board of Directors, customers and outside vendor/service.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Position sedentary primarily sitting/lifting a maximum of 100 pounds with team or dual lifitng. Physical factors include constant sitting, use of hearing, smell, near/midrange/far vision, depth perception, color/field of vision; frequent typing; occasional standing, walking, carrying/lifting, pushing/pulling, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, reaching, driving and bending. Working conditions include working in a confined area for extended periods of time; constant exposure to noise; occasional exposure to weather and wet/humidity. Potential hazards include frequent exposure to high exposed places, computer use and occasional exposure to electric shock, infectious exposure and client contact. Personal protective equipment/clothing needed to perform job include gloves and working on rubber floor to protect against electric shock.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: Three years of experience working with surveillance systems preferred.
Certification/License: Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable by the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must comply with annual driver's license review and insurability standards with the Sault Tribe Insurance Department. Must undergo a Criminal background investigation done under the rules of the National Indian Gaming Commission. Will be required to complete and pass pre-employment drug testing.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of basic networking and ability to rebuild surveillance footage storage units required. Knowledge of telecommunication systems and fiber optics preferred. Must be able to rebuild computer desktops and servers and work with DOS programming. Ability to run different style man lifts, boom lifts and forklifts preferred. Must be able to use basic hand and power tools. Position required being on call on a monthly basis to respond to after hour emergencies relating to Casino surveillance. Must be able to work under pressure and handle difficult situations. Must be able to establish and maintain effective communication with co-workers, supervisors and the general public. Must be able to prepare clear, concise, thorough, meaningful, and grammatically correct written reports, letters, memoranda, policy and procedural drafts, and other written documents. Must be able to work extended hours when needed. Must be flexible and available to work various shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays. Must be 18 years of age. Must maintain confidentiality. Native American preferred.
