Location: Savannah Position Number A03218 Position Type: Full Time Position Title AV Support Specialist Assigned Area(s) of Responsibility: Category: Staff Work Year: Year Round Posting Text SCAD seeks a full-time audiovisual support specialist to join its team in historic Savannah, Ga. In this position, you will be responsible for the setup and operation of audio and video equipment at events, as well as the support and maintenance of classroom equipment for faculty, including installation and cabling. You will transport allocated equipment for setup and breakdown at presentation spaces that may not typically be equipped for audiovisual presentations and ensure that all equipment is in working order and presented to request and department standards. The successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with professional experience in the setup and operation of live events in large arenas, including live music venues, public speaking events, conference rooms, and teleconferencing. The candidate should have stellar interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills, and can use these abilities to work collaboratively with presenters in all performance spaces. The ability to operate video, lighting, and sound equipment in presentation spaces is critical, as are technical support skills that involve troubleshooting on-location and infrastructure issues that relate to presentation equipment.

Requirements

* Bachelors degree in communications, broadcast technology, or a related discipline

* Minimum of one year of professional experience with audiovisual equipment

* Experience with large venue shows with theater, stage, and presentation halls

* Background in theater, music, and/or film production

* Basic installation skills with soldered electrical connections, crimping, interconnecting cables, harnesses, and wiring
