Savannah Distributing Company, family owned and operated, is a leader in the beverage distribution industry covering the entire state of Georgia. We are currently seeking a qualified Account Manager - Buckhead, Atlanta Area responsible for achieving supplier objectives, key performance indicators, and targets by implementing strategies and tactics while managing and developing in-market customers in a manner that will achieve profitable long-term growth. The ideal candidate will be an ambassador for a major spirits supplier and bring insight, best practices to assigned accounts, while increasing market share. Drive brand success via leadership selling and actively supporting the selling efforts of sales reps, district managers, and key account specialists within the wholesaler
Drive market share and visibility within assigned on-premise and off-premise accounts, driving displays, size distribution, menu placements, shelf management, and signage
Responsible for implementing a major spirits supplier's execution plans to maximize sales in assigned accounts
Monitor field implementation and execution of programs within assigned accounts to ensure merchandising excellence
Develop and execute against major spirits supplier's multi-cultural platform in assigned accounts
Facilitate and execute against major spirits supplier's charitable platform, while encouraging customers to include such spirits in their philanthropic endeavors
Regularly interact with field management for updating programming and brand priorities, brand standards and best practices leading to successful execution in the market
Provide detailed tracking reports of wholesaler performance against agreed-to supplier objectives
Develop key account relationships that deliver measurable results
Work with key assigned teams to deliver monthly goals (work-withs, product training, samples, etc.)
Create, coordinate, and attend on-site promotional and charitable functions at established customer accounts (e.g. events, managed bar nights, mixology events, and trade tastings)
Analyze brand performance, brand competitiveness, and product trends in the marketplace and develop strategies for assigned brand based on research and analysis.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Industry related sales experience within the distribution, hospitality or supplier-community required
Strong knowledge of beer and spirits, especially wine
Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and ability to obtain and maintain auto liability insurance in accordance with State laws
Preferred Qualifications
Comprehensive understanding of spirits to include mixology, merchandising, and competitive set
Ability to adapt and can assist a variety of internal customer groups and varying personality types, especially on-premise operators and mixologists
Strong negotiation skills; demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit
Ability to create and sell innovative ideas
Goal oriented, focused, and assertive individual who needs little direction or supervision
Effective communication skills to present information, interpret and respond appropriately to different audiences.
Strong relationship building skills to develop insight into customer needs, provide options and meet the customer’s and the company’s business needs
Ability to work flexible hours which include early morning, evenings, and/or weekends due to on-premise account promotions, education/mixology programs, and charitable events
Ability to work overnight travel as required
Ability to participate in business meetings, company initiatives and events upon request
Proficient at reviewing comparative sales data for analysis
Stay apprised of federal, state and local laws affecting the beverage/alcohol industry within account responsibility
