Savannah District, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is Hiring a Project Manager Near Savannah, GA

Deliver vital engineering solutions for our Nation as a Project Manager with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Savannah District!

This is a Department of the Army Civilian position and does NOT require enlistment in the U.S. Army.

Job Description:

Selected individuals will serve in the Civil Works Programs and Project Management Branch and will manage the study, design, acquisition, and construction of projects of considerable scope and complexity in the areas of commercial navigation, flood and coastal storm risk management, aquatic ecosystem restoration, and others.

Job Duties:

- Manage all phases of civil works projects including feasibility study, design, construction, and operation and maintenance.

- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets in accordance with USACE guidelines and regulations.

- Lead multi-disciplinary project teams, including contractors, and subcontractors, to ensure successful project execution. Integrate all District functions (e.g., planning, design, cost engineering, construction, real estate, contracting, etc.), customer needs, regulatory requirements and other agencies' commitments in support of assigned projects.

- Monitor project progress and performance against established goals and objectives, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental, safety, and quality standards.

- Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and the public, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.

- Identify project risks and develop appropriate risk management strategies.

- Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork and communication among project team members.

- Projects may include dams, water diversion structures, bridges, flood walls, levees, river control structures, bypasses, flood plains, dredging, environmental restoration, relocations, rights-of-way and operations and maintenance aspects, among others.

Preferred Experience:

- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in project management, preferably with civil works projects.

- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent.

- Knowledge of federal regulations and guidelines related to civil construction projects.

- Experience in contract management, including procurement, negotiation, and administration.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage project teams and stakeholders.

- Familiarity with environmental and safety regulations governing civil construction projects.

- Ability to analyze project requirements, identify risks, and develop effective mitigation strategies.

- Experience in budgeting and financial management for civil construction projects.

- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions.

- Knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to civil infrastructure projects, such as dams, levees, and water resources management.

Series and Qualifications: Candidates MUST meet the minimum eligibility requirements listed by the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and be qualified to fill this interdisciplinary position under one of the following job series:

0810 - Civil Engineer / 1301 - Physical Scientist / 0401 - Biologist / 0808 - Architect

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs are authorized, and Recruitment, Relocation, or Retention incentives and student loan repayment may be authorized.

This position is being recruited under Direct Hire Authority.
