The Network Administrator is responsible for the design, implementation, security, maintenance, support, and management of the enterprise network infrastructure. This includes the local-area/wide-area, telephony/voice, corporate wireless, network security, and remote access infrastructures. The Network Administrator will also contribute to the daily administration, maintenance, and support of Savant’s server and desktop systems and software. The Network Administrator will make contributions to technology projects through planning, configuration, deployment, and training related activities. The Network Administrator will support employees of Savant Wealth Management in order to resolve IT related issues and improve processes.
The Network Administrator Is Responsible For The Following
  • Design, install, configure, and maintain local-area, wide-area, and wireless network infrastructures including routers, switches, access points, UPS's and other supported appliances as required. Ensure LAN and WAN network connectivity for the enterprise. Identify opportunities for improvement and optimization of the local network infrastructure.
  • Maintains and administers enterprise phone systems including main phone system, voice mail, and conferencing. Researches, designs and implements new phone system features, working with vendors as appropriate.
  • Work with manager to design, implement, document, and maintain enterprise security solutions (endpoint, firewall, web filtering, intrusion detection/prevention, etc.). Assist with Cybersecurity improvements.
  • Monitor the enterprise network infrastructure to ensure performance service levels and availability. Manage network monitoring tools to include notification and reporting of outages and performance issues. Identify new products and methods to better manage the network infrastructure.
  • Monitor and document network usage and growth, and plan for adequate resources (cabling, power, switching, phone, LAN, WAN, remote access, IP addresses)
  • Monitor network systems for health and security related events
  • Monitor, and maintain ISP and Telco services
  • Write and maintain detailed system documentation and procedures. Prepare training materials as required
  • Complete periodic log file reviews and identify abnormal events through the use of security information and event management software
  • Regularly assess network and voice systems for vulnerabilities and resolve them
  • Monitor the help desk and provide solutions to support requests
  • Assist with user and computer moves, adds, and changes as needed
  • Assist with general server and application maintenance as needed
  • Assist with the support of endpoint devices and other critical computing platforms as needed
  • Ensure that change control and other processes and procedures are followed, and that configuration documentation is completed when systems are deployed or modified
  • Perform project assessments, scoping, and cost estimates
  • Maintain security of systems and provide access to applications and files as needed
  • Maintain a high level of technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications
  • Contribute to the overall effectiveness of the IT team by assisting with various projects and filling in for others as needed
  • Provide hardware, software, and voice system training
  • Encourage team members’ safe, efficient, and effective usage of computing systems
  • Ability to work non-standard business hours (evenings/weekends) on occasion
  • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor/manager
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities
A Couple Things To Note About Our Network Administrator
  • This position our of our headquarters in Rockford, IL. All applicants must live within a 50 mile commuting radius.
  • Once fully trained, you will receive the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule. This consists of 3 days in office per week.
  • This is a full-time position, with a minimum expected hour amount of 40 hours per week.
  • This role will require occasional travel.
  • The role will require the flexibility to work outside of the normal office hours of 8-5. This includes evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Associate’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field from an accredited school. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • The following certifications are preferred: CCNA, CCNP Enterprise | Collaboration | Security, Network , Security , or similar certifications.
Experience
  • 5 years proven success in a similar information technology role
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of networking concepts and best practice Cybersecurity measures
  • Comprehensive understanding of network engineering, network operations, and network performance analysis
  • Working knowledge and skills with various network technologies (create VLAN, create static route, diagnose routing problems, configure ports, create VPN, configure firewall rules, etc.)
  • General knowledge in project management and organizing complex initiatives
  • Expertise in server and desktop operating system configuration and support
  • Proficient in Microsoft OS server and desktop application support
  • Advanced understanding of OS and Network security best practices and strategies
  • Analytical and process-oriented approach to issues and assigned tasks
  • Able to independently plan and manage projects
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to stay current with rapidly changing technology platforms
  • Self-motivated, customer service oriented, energetic, resourceful, and eager to learn
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High level of comfort in working with a team in order to complete projects
  • Ability to travel to regional office sites as necessary
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and evidence of auto insurance
