Save the Children US is Hiring a Program Associate, IDEAL (P1) Near Washington, DC
SummaryLed by Save the Children, the Implementer-Led Design, Evidence, Analysis and Learning (IDEAL) Activity is a multi-year project funded by USAID’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance (BHA) that aims to strengthen the capacity of BHA implementing partners to design and implement effective emergency and non-emergency food security programs. IDEAL serves as a catalyst and facilitator of knowledge sharing and learning, evidence generation and application, and collaborative community building among food security implementers. The Peer-to-peer Evidence, Analysis, and Knowledge Sharing (PEAKS) activity is a multi-year Associate Award of the IDEAL Activity that is anticipated to start in October 2024. The Program Associate will provide administrative and project management support for IDEAL and PEAKS program staff.
What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)Administrative Management and Operations (70%)
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)Administrative Management and Operations (70%)
- Organize and support IDEAL/PEAKS project meetings and take meeting notes
- Maintain IDEAL/PEAKS project calendar for meetings, events, and travel
- Support the procurement of vendors, consultants, and services
- Assist in managing of consultant agreements and payments
- Aid staff and consultants in arranging travel
- Coordinate project-wide documentation and archiving processes
- Process invoices, accurately code and track project expenses
- Maintain the IDEAL/PEAKS project’s inventory
- Support the IDEAL team in the planning and implementation of the closeout process
- Support the PEAKS team in award startup processes
- Other tasks as required
- Support work plan development and tracking, and program reporting
- Support annual work planning, annual budget development, and regular internal learning processes
- Support the planning and logistics of online and in-person knowledge sharing events and capacity strengthening workshops, including but not limited to:
- Procurement of venue and service providers
- Coordination with speakers
- Preparation of event materials
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience
- Exceptional organizational skills
- Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
- Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging
- Zoom, Miro, Eventbrite, and/or Mailchimp skills
- Proficiency supporting webinars and online meetings
- Experience working in a low-to-middle-income country
- Understanding of international development, emergency programs, and/or food security programming
- Familiarity with United States Government-funded projects, particularly USAID
- Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target hourly pay for this position is $26.56 – $29.69
- Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $24.11 – $26.95
- Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target hourly pay for this position is $21.66 – $24.21
