SaviBank in Oak Harbor, WA , has an excellent opportunity for you to use your experience in banking, finance, lending and customer service to become our next Credit Analyst - for our Oak Harbor and Freeland Branch .
This position is based on Whidbey Island but may have the potential flexibility to work from any of our offices in Skagit, Island, or Whatcom County.

This position is full time, and we work bankers' hours, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm with some potential flexibility. We offer 3 weeks of PTO, and 11 paid holidays.
Career range for this position is $28.40-$47.34 hourly based on direct experience and qualifications for this opportunity.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for assisting loan officers with the granting and maintaining of sound business loans. The position underwrites credits by providing financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, collateral evaluation, and loan structuring on loans requiring minimal skill levels. The position is responsible for helping ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and regulations, and ensuring the accuracy and timely delivery of documents for closing the loan. The position requires supervision and direction and may act independently on occasion, as needed, to handle customer inquiries related to the lending process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify loan purpose, source of repayment and collateral value
  • Interact independently to handle most customer inquiries, including issues of compliance, resolutions and financial statements. May require guidance on more complex issues
  • Spread financial statements and related information to financial spreadsheets and/or software programs for analysis
  • Analyze Accounts Receivable, Inventory, and other collateral information to determine adequate collateral coverage for Asset Based loans
  • Analyze financial data related to new and renewal commercial loan requests, including lines of credit, asset-based lines, equipment financing loans, and/or commercial real estate loans
  • Prepare construction and development forms and worksheets as required
  • Work with lender and/or customers to facilitate construction draws
  • Conduct credit investigations and prepare credit approval reports and summarize credit
  • Analyze a variety of commercial and real estate loan requests, including construction and development loans
  • Review applicant's creditworthiness by presenting facts and offer opinions to loan officers
  • Monitor and maintain credit files, pending files, and pipeline
  • Prepare Loan Authorization worksheet as completely as required for loan servicing purposes
  • Manage existing loan portfolios
  • Responsible for monitoring delinquency and maturing loans reports
  • Update Loan files
  • Review and assist lenders in clearing exception list
  • Prepare extension and/or renewal authorizations
  • Review and understand loan policies, guidelines, and procedures and operate within Bank guidelines
  • Assemble loan packages and related information for presentations at loan approval meetings
  • Comply with governing regulations by maintaining current knowledge of commercial law, UCC, and Banking regulations/policies to ensure conformity with required laws and terms
  • Accompany Loan Officer on some business calls
  • Maintain close and cooperative working relationships with the loan operation department
  • Prepare credit updates and special reports as assigned by management
  • Assist with special projects as assigned by supervisor

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance
  • Minimum of one-year financial analysis experience, preferred 2-4 years
  • One year bank or lending experience, and/or combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • Demonstrate a working knowledge of credit underwriting including financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, collateral evaluation and loan structuring
  • Must have a good understanding of general accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of Bank loan policies, guidelines, and procedures preferred
  • Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations affecting commercial and consumer loans a plus
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills, including experience with word processing, spreadsheet, and loan origination systems
