This role is responsible for driving operational excellence through managing air partner's service level agreements, assisting operations with escalations, maintaining rates and procurement air services. As well as implementing required infrastructure for a successful gateway program in the US.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Support internal commercial teams by procuring air freight rates
• Build national air vendor network
• Formulate freight strategy in line with SDB market segments
• Strong team player, able to work collaboratively with operational team members, whilst liaising and coordinating with vendors and internal clients
• Monthly commercial activity reporting in the form of a quotation tracking, sales and RFQ pipeline, air export volume.
• Work with direct Manager on all sales, business development and budgeting requirements
• On-boarding of new vendors/carriers and contracts
• Communicate, share and collaborate with our global network on leads generated to and from any locations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor's Degree in International Business, Transportation, Finance or related discipline preferred.
• Minimum five years of related experience in freight forwarding.
• Minimum three years of supervisory or managerial experience is required.
• Must have good ethical standards.
• Result oriented with strong ability to prioritize tasks in order to achieve overarching product goals
• Good influencing skills with a collaborative work style, fostering cooperation and teamwork
• A strategic thinker, who can demonstrate a background of using leading indicators to spot problems and can engage with the leadership team on business strategy around the global network
• Experience in working for a freight forwarder developing an airfreight network services/relationship with new or existing providers
• A history of working closely with other teams (Sales, Customer Success and Operations) and your peers (Air, Ocean and pricing) to build & iterate on our service offering
• Feels comfortable working in a challenging environment and will to challenge the status quo with logic or data but with a mindset that if it is broken, we should fix this
• Proven background in leading improvements programs across the different business units which have delivered costs savings or service improvement
