Opening in January 2009, Savy Paws Pet Resort has become the premier boarding and daycare facility in Cherokee County. The goal of our professional, knowledgeable & friendly staff at Savy Paws Pet Resort is to create a safe, fun, and stimulating social environment for dogs. We are a boarding and daycare facility with a creative twist, everything can be done indoors!

The Position:

The Pet Care Associate is responsible for the overall care of all the dogs within the pet resort. Under direction of the Kennel Supervisor, provides for the constant cleanliness of suites and yards and the proper feeding and care of all dogs. Candidate much be able to apply knowledge and skills in controlling/handling individual dog temperament. Also, have the ability to gain dog confidence when restraining them for grooming and/or treatment

Duties will include:

• To observe dogs appearance and activity for general physical condition, obvious signs of illness and discontent.
• To thoroughly clean and disinfect all areas of the pet resort as often as is necessary.
• To feed the required types and amounts of food to the dogs
• To take charge and/or handle animals as required and to restrain hard to control dogs.
• To perform needed cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and tools used in job assignments.
• Working Conditions: Work is normally performed inside; some outside work is required. Exposure to unpleasant odors and noises. Exposure to bites, scratches and animal wastes. Possible exposure to canine contagious diseases.
• Minimum Qualifications: Often requires lifting and carrying materials weighing up to 50 lbs. Frequently requires handling of materials up to 50 lbs. Additionally, handle dogs weighing up to 150 lbs. Walking and/or standing for long periods. Maybe required to use strength or agility in capturing and restraining stronger, more active dogs.

Shifts are usually 6:30AM to 2:30PM or 11am to 7pm M-F (4 days) AND Saturday or Sunday 7:30AM to 4PM!Subject to change with the business each week.

Pay: $13.00 - $16.00 per hour
