You will be essential in keeping the company’s financial health in its best shape. By utilizing your solid communication, technology, analytical and accounting skills, you will ensure accuracy and effectiveness and be responsible for overseeing the accounting team and tasks for multiple properties and entities. Due to the nature of a small business, you will work intimately and flexibly with a small team to complete tasks as well as report directly to ownership as needed.
Responsibilities
● Present comprehensive financial updates to senior managers by evaluating, analyzing, and reporting appropriate data points
● Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines
● Achieve budgeting goals with proper scheduling, analysis, and corrective actions
● Maximize payroll efficiency through innovative process development
● Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
● Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
● Oversee accounting team for maximum efficiency
● Direct internal and external audits to ensure compliance
● Manage month-end and year-end close processes
● Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
● Ensure compliance with GAAP principles
Skills
● Masterful knowledge of accounting procedures, financial accounting principles and statements, and GAAP
● Experience in managing payroll and financial project management
● Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
● Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, like MRI and ADP
● Advanced MS Excel skills with knowledge of MS softwares and Google Suite
● Accuracy and attention to detail
● Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
● Ability to accurately communicate the financial status of the entities to upper management and third parties
● BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant
● Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
