SummaryThe Vice President of Sourcing oversees the sourcing for all tabletop products as well as directing the sourcing team responsible for Kitchen, Pantry, Travel and Bath categories. In addition, this role will oversee the following categories as they relate to Walmart, Costco and Sam’s Club: Mats, Rugs, Pillows, Throws, Pet Beds and Window.

- Oversees development of sourcing strategies to identify vendors that meet the organization's quality, cost, or service requirements.
- Establishes policies and practices for evaluating products prior to purchase, and ensures standards are continuously met after purchase.
- Negotiate the most competitive cost with the appropriate country and factory, based on customer requirements.
- Identifies trends in organizational purchasing and identifies opportunities for cost reduction.
- Evaluate costing for repeat SKUs on a regular basis for any benefit from global market conditions, raw material and currency fluctuation.
- Work with Sales team on deadlines for costing / production / shipping on all programs.
- Align with Design department on all development. Follow through from sample order to receipt in NYC.
- Leads and directs the sourcing team in daily responsibilities and special projects.
- Contributes to strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department in collaboration with senior management.
- Establishes departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization in collaboration with senior management.
- Cost engineer into target price ensuring that costs reflect testing/quality requirements of the customer.
- Oversee and review all incoming costs to ensure accuracy before passing to Sales, and before PLM entry.
- Align with the packaging department to ensure packaging is available at time of costing requests.
- Analyze overall factory plans to ensure capacities are available for all orders and reorders.
- Participate in weekly external development and production meetings with agents/factories.
- Participate in weekly internal development and production meetings with cross-functional teams.
- Review suppliers and capabilities with Sourcing / Compliance department.
- Send Tech packs to supplier.
- Review test reports.
- Maintain Traceability documentation including:
- Scope and Transaction certificates for all suppliers.
- Quantities ordered and received.
- Fabric content.
- Origin and destination.
- Request Scope Certificates and Transaction Certificates from suppliers and maintain records of the certifications.
- Provide Transaction Certificates to customers for all material sold as GOTS certified products.
- Excellent costing and negotiating skills.
- Overseas travel as required.
- Understanding of trade regulations, product integrity, testing protocols, production cycle timeline and logistics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Bachelor’s degree plus ten years of previous sourcing experience working with overseas vendors at a large volume wholesale or retail business.
- Experience with importing rugs and home textiles.
- Computer proficiency to include MS office, especially Excel.
- Prior experience managing a team.
