ABOUT THE ROLE

Bethlehem Shared Services, LLC is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to help manage multiple concurrent ongoing IT projects using a combination of waterfall and agile methodologies. You will be working closely with your colleagues to ensure that all project requirements, resource plans, regular communication, timelines, and budgets are established and on track. Responsibilities include being instrumental in documenting project objectives and deliverables, preparing status reports, problem solving, and establishing effective project communication plans as well as the proper execution of said plans.

WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?

  • Ensure successful delivery of IT projects and/or cross-functional project initiatives.
  • Facilitate and ensure the Scrum process is followed, including daily stand-up meetings, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews and demos, backlog grooming and retrospectives.
  • Actively work with the teams and offshore resources daily to manage work assignments and deliverables (daily scrum)
  • Ensure an on-time delivery of projects and clearly communicate project status, issues and progress using project collaboration tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA)
  • Help guide team through project impediments ensuring blockers are removed and clearly communicated to all groups.
  • Create project management methodology and enforce project standards.
  • Manage IT project plans and team resource planning.
  • Plan and identify resource needs throughout the life of a project
  • Leads prioritization review with Executive Management (Bi-weekly)
  • Maintain Top 5 status of ticket and estimated deliverables dates (Stakeholder Reporting)
    • Weekly communication and status updates to stakeholders (PMO deck)
  • Weekly review of Top 5 department tickets and requirements

RELEASE MANAGEMENT:

  • Coordinate the release schedule and resources required depending upon the third-party applications, defect backlogs, planned releases, and infrastructure updates.
  • Schedule the release readiness reviews before deployment and milestone reviews after each release.
  • Create plans for the implementation and deployment as per the release schedule.
  • Identify the risks that can delay the release and manage them, such that the scope scheduled, and quality of the release is not affected.
  • Make improvements in the methodologies used for configuration management and development of software that helps to find ways to use in configuration management.

COMMUNICATIONS:

  • Communicates consistently with stakeholders to understand expectations and business strategy as well as to provide project status and communicating risks and mitigation plans.
  • Facilitates team meetings effectively including scheduling, agenda, and minutes.
  • Leads sprint planning and prioritization.
  • Holds regular backlog grooming with the development team.
  • Manages communication with stakeholders, development team, and third-party application vendors.
  • Holds scheduled status meetings with project team.
  • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.
  • Prepare and circulate weekly executive overviews.

WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WILL BE REQUIRED?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
  • 5 years of project management experience at an ecommerce retailer
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management principles and techniques
  • Knowledge of traditional project management principles (burndown techniques, retrospective formats, handling bugs, user stories, continuous Integration, continuous testing).
  • Demonstrable experience successfully leading varied and diverse teams.
  • Demonstrable experience managing multiple smaller initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience in application development lifecycles and environments. Must be able to pick up technical and business concepts quickly and understand technical issues at a sufficiently deep level to identify gaps.
  • Experience in retail industry and eCommerce sites.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills both verbal and written (English).
  • Strong skills in Excel, Power Point, MS Office, Confluence and JIRA
  • Demonstrated eCommerce & ERP system experience.
  • Team management skills
  • Comfortable working under tight deadlines
  • Capable of operating independently with situational awareness to escalate as necessary.
