Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Ocean Import Specialist at Schneider Freight USA Inc. in our Valley Stream, NY office. The Ocean Import Specialist will be responsible for handling day-to-day tasks related to import shipments, including coordinating with customers, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with import regulations and procedures. They will also work closely with the sales department and international trade partners to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service.
Qualifications
- Experience in ocean freight forwarding-FCL and LCL
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Excellent math skills
- Knowledge of international trade and import regulations
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Looking for a company to grow your skillset
- Basic knowledge of incoterms and mathematical conversions
Experience with Descartes or CargoWise a plus.
Hours:
8:30-5:30, Monday to Friday
