School District of Menomonee Falls is Hiring a HEALTH ROOM ASSISTANT at Menomonee Falls High School Near Menomonee Falls, WI

We have an opening for a Health Room Assistant at Menomonee Falls High School starting with the 2024-25 school year. We welcome you to apply!

Schedule: School Year only; 7.0 hours/day; 7:15AM - 2:45PM (includes a half-hour unpaid lunch)

Hourly wage based on experience, with starting pay at $16.76/hour with CNA license or $15.00/hour without CNA license.

Beginning of Year Schedule:

August 20, 2024: New Hire Orientation

August 26, 2024: District & Building Inservice

September 3, 2024: First Day of School

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Dispense medication in accordance with School Board policy.
  • Handle injury/illness needs of students according to established School District of Menomonee Falls policies and procedures.
  • Maintain health records and logs; compile monthly/yearly reports, records and all telephone calls regarding. All information and records will be treated in a confidential manner.
  • Communicate with parents as needed regarding injuries/illness.
  • File required reports to the Waukesha County Health Department.
  • Maintain immunization records and file communications.
  • Maintain a list of students with special health needs, i.e. epilepsy, asthma, diabetes, etc. Notify staff of these students.

Key Skills and Abilities

  • Experience working with the students, including students with health and medical needs
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized, and able to keep accurate documentation
  • Able to complete required reports
  • An advocate of children
  • Ability to collaborate and consult with other professionals involved with students receiving health or medical intervention
  • Able to follow the direction given by the District nurse or administration

Desired Minimum Qualifications (Experience, Education, Certificates, Licenses and Training):

  • WI Certified Nurse Aide license preferred
  • Interest and knowledge in literature
  • Interest and knowledge in using and learning new technologies
  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of five years working with children
  • Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.
  • Must be able to prioritize and exhibit sound problem solving abilities.
  • Must have strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work independently as well as within a team.
  • Experience in a school district setting is highly desirable.
