School District of Washington is Hiring a Business Connection Coordinator Near Washington, MO

The School District of Washington is currently seeking a Business Connection Coordinator. This is a full-time, 11-month position (August - June). Typical business week hours can be expected. This position is also benefit and retirement eligible, and receives eleven Paid Leave days per year. They may be subject to change at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons.POSITION SUMMARY (Primary Purpose Of Job)The Business Connection Coordinator will serve the School District of Washington and our sending Districts as the primary liaison with business and industry employers. This work includes connecting our business partners with our staff and students through a variety of ways.
SPHERE AND SCOPE OF INFLUENCE (Supervisory scope, district impact and budgetary responsibility)The scope of the Business Connection Coordinator includes work as it relates to Connect Washington, SDOW’s advisory group footprint, and coordinating the apprenticeship programming for our students. This work entails coordinating discussions and presentations to employers, organizations, industry associations, and government officials at the state and local level regarding the benefits of the program and to advance the District vision, mission, and goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES (Major duties which the position exists to perform)
  • Coordinate with the Department of Labor and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for registered apprenticeships. This includes actively seeking, marketing, and ensuring apprenticeship opportunities for eligible students.
  • Expand the advisory group footprint at FRCC through business and community connections. This includes connecting our teachers to new partners in alignment with Connect Washington.
  • This position actively seeks business partners and community connections.
  • As a part of Connect Washington, the Business Connection Coordinator connects teachers with our partners for various activities such as guest speakers, career fairs, client connect projects, etc.
  • This position is responsible for engaging with our partners regularly throughout the year including development and execution of an ongoing communication system to keep them engaged with SDOW.
  • This work is an active partner with our career services coordinator and counselors to connect students to businesses for internships, job shadowing, and other opportunities available in our community.
  • Other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES (duties which the incumbent can be expected to perform)The Business Connection Coordinator can expect to conduct presentations to multiple audiences, solve complex problems, produce professional written communication, read and analyze professional and technical information, keep information confidential when required by law, supervise students in school and at District sponsored events, report suspected abuse and neglect, and respond to unexpected situations.
Supervisory ResponsibilitiesMinimal supervisory responsibilities related to this position. The office is currently located at FRCC for the purposes of coordinating advisory group expansion and registered student apprenticeship programs. Due to this location, some supervisory activities may be needed at times.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (Minimum educational requirements, licenses, skills and experience required as well as preferred options)Bachelor Degree or higher
Experience in workforce development with ability to effectively lead. Interested applicants should possess excellent written and oral communication skills, work well with others, have computer skills and knowledgeable in working with Google applications (i.e. Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
