Communications CoordinatorReporting to and in partnership with the Director of Engagement and Enrollment , the Communications Coordinator will spearhead communications efforts as S2 continues to grow. A new position in the organization, t he Coordinator will collaborate with a dynamic central office team to design and implement communications strategy to support S2's fundamental goals of student enrollment, parent engagement, fundraising and mission advocacy. The Coordinator will have a targeted, purposeful, current, and creative approach to running our Social Media Presence. The Coordinator brings S2's mission to life by telling the stories of our students, families, teachers, leaders, and staff, tailoring communications to various stakeholder audiences and utilizing most effective channels. This role is responsible for all communications, including brand management, digital presence, content development and dissemination, and media/public relations. The Coordinator must be able to clearly articulate S2's mission, program efficacy, and core values to a variety of key constituents. Duties And ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with the central office team as well as the school leadership team to develop and hone key messages and intended outcomes. Implement a team designed communications strategy that informs, inspires, and ignites action for S2. Create and adhere to a proactive communications calendar that allows the Manager to strategically prioritize seasonal work streams. Specifically
Parents & Families: Ensure current parents are well-informed and feel connected AND prospective parents are excited to enroll their children at S2
Staff: Ensure current and prospective staff feel connected to the institution AND understand the opportunities available to them.
Drive and create a robust and welcoming Social Media presence.
S2's mission advocacy and parent action team objectives are supported.
Provide clear, precise creative direction to internal and external communications team members to create the best in-class content
Manage all media contacts and create proactive brand presence in media ads, print and social media
Develop creative content on our current social media platforms.
Maintain and update S2 website, maximizing usage (and usefulness!) for key constituencies
Qualifications
Alignment with and passion for S2's values and mission
Storyteller who can deepen connections with parents, community, public officials, media and funders
Strong ability to create a robust and effective social media presence.
Knowledge of social media trends.
Strong writer and editor: succinct and clear
Experience using WordPress, Adobe Creative Suite, and other graphic design/web tools, a strong plus
Organized project manager
Ability to craft engaging written materials & visual presentations for a variety of audiences
Successful track record of improving organizational brand awareness
Excellent interpersonal skills; can build relationships internally and externally with a customer service mindset
Skilled at identifying and seizing opportunities to reach priority audiences and key decision makers
Doesn't get rattled by urgency for producing content for multiple and overlapping organizational priorities.
Tenacious when working through many iterations of work product
Bilingual in Spanish/English (reading, writing, speaking), required
Compensation And BenefitsIn addition to meaningful and rewarding work, S2 is a collegial organization that values its staff and encourages innovation and professional growth. We provide an excellent compensation and benefits package including medical, dental, life & long-term disability insurance, a 401K program with a 6% organizational contribution, generous paid time off, and a friendly work environment. The salary from this role will be $50,000 to $65,000.
