School of Science and Technology San Antonio is Hiring a Federal Programs, Engagement, and Testing Coordinator Near San Antonio, TX

Position: Empowerment and Enrichment Coordinator

JOB GOAL

To fulfill our SST Schools Mission and Goals at the campus level by supporting and collaborating with all stakeholders through the EMPOWERMENT AND ENRICHMENT strategies to maximize the involvement of staff, students, parents and community.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

o Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

o A minimum of 1 year of teaching/administration experience.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Maintain master event calendar for school and community use.

o Promote the creation of and development of new clubs and help identify potential club advisors among existing campus personnel. Also, provide resources/training opportunities for club advisors.

o Supports student club advisors for fund raising opportunities.

o Supervise requests of all club projects and fundraisers.

o Assist student government, student clubs and their sponsors in planning and organizing campus activities.

o Supervise club & program mentors/advisors

o Support all stakeholders in their efforts to identify, develop, and maintain mentoring programs

o Organize, support and coordinate any empowerment and enrichment activities and events for students, parents and staff.

o Encourage and support all academic and sport competitions.

o Direct the planning and implementation of parent programs such as home visit, parent activities, parent academy and trips.

o Create programs to help students to and through high school and colleges o Collaborate with all stakeholders (admins, staff, students, parents, PTO/PTA committee, community leaders, higher education institutions, etc.) to fulfill the school mission and goals.

o Analyze and evaluate the on-going empowerment and enrichment programs by providing data to the administration and central office executives.

o Meet with principal and District Empowerment & Enrichment Programs (D.E.E.P.) in a regular basis to give report and discuss the concerns to find the best solutions.

o Meet with the designated persons to evaluate the programs in a regular basis.

o Organize programs for student engagement such as leadership seminars, character education, community service, and personal development.

o Collaborates with the D.E.E.P to run activities such as middle-high school transition, internships, various certificate programs, scholarships, senior-alumni transition and connection, and bridge four year in campus.

o Organize expedition/exploration programs such as college trips, in/out-of-State trips, camps, summer leadership STEM camps, Festival of Language and Culture, language performance elimination.

o Facilitate, promote and assist with student recognition/award presentation events.

o Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

o Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral forms with all levels of management, both internal and external to the district.

o Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internal and external to the district.

o Ability to organize special programs for students, parents, and staff.

o Ability to use computer including software, database used by the district, spreadsheet and word processing software, calculator, copy machine and telephone. o Ability to analyze data

o Ability to use effective interview techniques, effective public speaking skills, and problem-solving skills

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

o Light Work: may require occasional light lifting.

o Nights and weekend activities will be occasionally required.

o Position is in office setting and may involve prolonged work at a desk in one location.

o Moderate travel is required.

Position: Federal Program Coordinator

Job Goal

Coordinate and comply with federal program and state requirements, parental-family engagement, community activities- meetings, and training.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

o Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university.

o A minimum 1 year of teaching Experience.

o Title I school wide campus professional experience preferred

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

o Be knowledgeable about federal and state compensatory education laws, procedures, and SST Public Schools program polices and guidelines.

o Attend required trainings on federal programs to include meetings for Title I Part A, Title III, McKinney Vento, Foster Care, Immigrant, Migrant, and other programs as required.

o Coordinate with other departments to all Federal and state programs compliancy.

o Provide training to staff, parents, and community members

o Coordinate federal program Title I and Title III related activities at campus including, but not limited to Campus Need Assessment, Campus Improvement Plan, and Parent Family and Community Engagement, EB, Immigrant, and community events, and any other federal program related activities.

o Conduct surveys related to federal programs for schoolwide Title I Part A and Title III

o Reports regularly to the principal and central office on the progress of the federal programs

o Coordinate meetings, invite stakeholders to meetings, maintain minutes, signatures, and all other documents as required in statute.

o Lead and participate in parent and community schoolwide Title I Part A and Title III events.

o Upload documents to web site, Central office Google drive, and maintain hard copies in a FPC binder.

o Lead the campus and departments with conducting and documenting the comprehensive needs

o assessment, developing plans to address their identified needs, and the annual evaluation of the Title programs.

o Prepare Title programs and document and report all amendments in your compliance reports mandated by Central/district office.

o Coordinate and facilitate Title I Parent and Family and Community Engagement program.

o Review and amend Campus Improvement Plans (CIPs) for Title I campus to insure all components of o schoolwide campuses are in the plans.

o Coordinate the Annual Title I program evaluation and participate in district planning meetings for Title Funds evaluation, implementation, and

o Demonstrate awareness of campus/community needs and initiate activities to meet those identified needs.

o Coordinate with facilities for neglected and/or delinquent students to provide supplemental o program services, when applicable.

o Work with the Director of State and Federal Programs, campus administration, and HR to project FTE for classrooms for supplementary staffing.

o Report, document, and manage record-keeping that provide accurate and timely information on Suspect list for McKinney Vento, Foster Care, Migrant, Immigrant, Miliatry, and highly mobile students.

o Provide accurate and timely input of all required data for program compliance.

o Review and check applicable program handbooks, checklist, and forms to ensure compliance for all Federal and State Compensatory programs.

o Establish communication systems that keep all parties well informed.

o Provide on-going monitoring and annual self-assessment of program effectiveness and correction of any areas of deficiency

o Performs other duties as assigned

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

o Knowledge of federal regulations and state guidance concerning Title and SCE programs

o Knowledge of Title programs application and compliance procedures o Knowledge of program improvement strategies and at-risk indicators

o Advanced skill in analyzing and preparation and applying appropriate resolution to problem situations

o Skill in operating a variety of technology applications (Google Docs, Translation tools, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

o Ability to maintain confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information

o Ability to organize and manage multiple complex tasks simultaneously and independently to meet deadlines

o Ability to perform duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperativeness, and work with minimum supervision

o Ability to communicate effectively verbally and written utilizing tact and diplomacy and maintain effective working relationships with parents, students, community members, district personnel, and campus administration/staff.

o Ability to maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to represent the district, campus, and public in a positive manner always and work in a team environment

o Ability to evaluate programs as related to State and Federal guidelines, requirements, and funding.

o Ability to maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of Campus and District personnel, as well as outside organizations.

o Maintain professional conduct, promote a positive image, appearance, and work ethic to always represent the campus and district in a positive manner and work in a team environment that supports the vision and mission of the District and SST campuses.

o Maintain a positive and effective relationship, good judgment, and decision making with coworkers, supervisors, other district personnel, outside agencies and organizations.

o Ability to maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic to always represent the Campus and District in a positive manner and work in a team environment

o Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required including auditable records and statements.

o Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and district/local board policy.
