Overview of role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Private Equity Finance Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining financial records, ensuring all accounting processes align with regulations and company policies, and contributing to the strategic financial decisions by providing insightful analysis and financial perspectives. A key aspect of this role is leadership in continuous process improvement and efficiency.

The team

The Private Equity Finance team provides value by driving business results through analytical insights and strategic advice, act as guardian to the financial resources and ensure adherence to all regulatory and statutory requirements, based on efficient processes and controls.

The team are responsible for circa 60 corporate entities including local/global financial reporting and disclosure, risk management, local treasury, analytics and partnering with the business for the introduction of new products, processes, or projects.

The base

You'll be based at Schroders Campus near Horsham in West Sussex. It's our fastest growing location and home to our EMEA Operations and Technology Operations hub as well as other infrastructure teams and our Benchmark Capital business.

What you'll do

• Prepare financial statements and reports for internal and external purposes
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
• Review and verify accuracy of accounting and financial data
• Partner with the relevant business functions and group competency centers
• Support treasury management activities
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors for timely audits
• Lead and participate in financial projects and continuous process improvement initiatives
• Drive efficiency in accounting processes and systems

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

• Chartered Accountant or equivalent professional qualification
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Audit, or related field
• Experience in the financial industry, preferably Private Equity, Private Assets or Wealth Management
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, including IFRS and Swiss GAAP
• Proven leadership in continuous process improvement and efficiency
• Commercial acumen with excellent communication and organizational skills
