IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Responsible for processing material to be recycled by loading, unloading and moving material throughout the facility as well as disposing and destroying out of date or non-conforming full product material through densification, perforation and crushing of glass.Some overtime, including weekends, is required.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Separate, sort and process all materials by using necessary process machinery to complete tasks
Dispose of plastic bottles, glass bottles and aluminum cans onto a conveyor belt
Track case count of each commodity
Load and/or unload material on trailers as needed including loading, processing and handling bins using the x-cycler
Weigh, label and properly store all processed materials as required
Maintain and service the forklift truck by completing daily forklift inspections and report any significant issues to shift supervisor and documents findings
Operate balers, granulators, trash compactor and other equipment as needed
Ensure proper tare weight program is used for material by referencing spec sheets and provide proper weight tickets to front office for billing purposes
Ensure line is running at maximum efficiency by running conveyor switches
Report all mechanical problems to Maintenance Supervisor promptly
Keep area neat and clean at all times including at the end of the shift and empty trash containers throughout the facility
Perform daily scale inspections as needed
Assist with daily inventory
Adhere to all safety policies and procedures including using required PPE protective equipment as required which includes, but is not limited to, proper ear, eye and hand protection
Train others as needed
Rotate and assist other team members in various roles as needed
Work overtime as required; flexibility to work different shifts as required
Perform other duties as assigned

BASIC EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must be able to be licensed to operate a forklift
A minimum of 6 months forklift experience preferred
Ability to understand and follow written and verbal work instruction and safety standards
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
Constant repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Constantly remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods
Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions with assistance
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the production department and other designated areas. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet conditions, extreme cold and heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Temperatures inside the plant can fluctuate between hot and cold according to seasonal changes.
