The incumbent will work as part of a team that creates long term value by safely improving equipment reliability and manage programs such as precision lubrication and oil analysis.
ResponsibilitiesEnsure that all equipment is lubricated to Lubrication Management (LM) standards and OEM specifications Assist with the improvement of the asset catalog, preventative maintenance optimization, and scheduling of corrective maintenance Write specifications and procedures for maintaining lubricated components Perform lubrication tasks on lubricated components including, but not limited to (1) Drain, clean, and refill oil reservoirs and sumps (2) Check and maintain proper oil level in reservoirs and sumps (3) Grease relubrication with manual and automatic dispensing equipment (4) Maintain auto lubrication lines, including plumbing and inspection for damaged or leaking fittings (5) Maintain dispensing equipment and automatic systems.
Maintain ISO cleanliness standards Maintain lubrication storage areas, tools, and equipment Perform oil sampling for oil analysis Read and interpret drawings and schematics to determine layout of industrial equipment installations Identify defects on lubricated components (ex.
leaking seals, excessive noise, etc.) and use CMMS (SAP) for entering notifications Diagnose bearing and wear surface failure and set action plans to correct failures Troubleshoot and execute corrective maintenance Resolve specific reliability issues and drive reliability improvements that support all areas of the plant Work with supervisors and planners who have priority work needing to be completed Be deeply involved in progressive, proactive maintenance routines, with a philosophy deeply rooted in a predictive approach in a 24 hour / day operation.
Understand and adhere to all plant Food / Health and Safety Polices. Responsible to conduct yourself and ensure your subordinates (if applicable) conduct themselves in a manner consistent with company mission, values, code of ethics, policies, and other standards of conduct.
Preferred QualificationsEducation : High school diploma or equivalent Years of Related Experience : 0-1 years of Industrial maintenance experience Knowledge / Skills / Abilities : Demonstrated understanding of basics of lubrication knowledge, how to tell the difference between basic lubricants and what they are used for according to lubrication standards.
Ability to pass Level 1 Machinery Lubricant Technician Exam (MLT I) or the Level 1 Machinery Lubrication Analyst Exam (MLA I) as provided by the international Council of Machinery Lubrication within one year.
Ability to recognize deficiencies in alignments, bearings, etc. Knowledge of bearings, lubrication, and power transmission.
Ability to collaborate with vendors to manage inventory and maintain inventories. Knowledge and ability to use Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends. Qualified to perform lockout procedures. Must be capable of meeting the physical demands required to perform the essential duties of the classification.
Strong troubleshooting, planning, and organizational skills. Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Good interpersonal and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a team setting. Ability to meet deadlines. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to follow machine blueprints, diagrams, sketches, and maintenance standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ability to effectively use hand tools.
Intermediate computer skills including, but not limited to managing and organizing large amounts of data, and performing basic and conditional formatting in Microsoft Excel;
formatting, inserting, and organizing drawings, pictures, text boxes, and creating and revising OPLs in Microsoft Word. Ability to train and mentor others on reliability methods.
