Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Immediate Customer Service Sales Representative for an established, food and drink distributing company local to South Portland. This is a full-time, temporary-to-hire opportunity based in Portland that offers an on-site work environment with a driven and passionate team.

As the Customer Service Sales Representative, you will work in support of a talented and diverse Sales Department, handling a large volume of phone calls as well as order processing, and resolving various customer requests as they arise.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide exceptional customer service by answering phones, taking orders, and resolving inquiries.
• Support sales representatives by assisting with customer needs and product knowledge.
• Process customer orders accurately and efficiently by receiving purchase orders via various channels and entering them into the system.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by establishing rapport and collaborating with colleagues to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Troubleshoot customer issues effectively by researching problems, identifying solutions, and recommending alternative options to meet customer needs.
• Maintain a well-organized work environment by performing various administrative tasks such as photocopying, faxing, mailing, filing, and managing phone calls.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Demonstrated experience in phone-based customer service or sales assistant roles, with a preference for candidates in the food distribution industry.
• Ability to work independently with internal drive while also collaborating across internal departments.
• Proficient in basic computer operations including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions and prioritize tasks
• Advanced written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of customers showing keen problem-solving abilities
• Passion to support and uplift the work of a driven sales team

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

This career opportunity provides a starting hourly pay of $22.00 to $24.00 DOE with room for further career growth over time, plus medical, dental, vision and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week.
