This is a wonderful full-time, temporary, hybrid opportunity to join an inspiring and mission-driven team!
Reporting to the CEO, the Interim Director of Finance and Operations will participate in all aspects of financial management, including preparing all financial forms and reports, analysis, risk management, budgeting, cash management, department support, and strategic planning.
This position provides a great opportunity to contribute to a wonderful mission and lead a passionate and dedicated team! The ideal candidate will serve as a business partner to the CEO and is highly organized, thorough, and focused on problem-solving with a hands-on leadership style!

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the board of directors, leadership team, and Directors on the preparation of a strong and accurate fiscal year annual budget for the organization
  • Ensure accounts receivable and accounts payable are tracked, reconciled, and managed in a timely manner
  • Oversee all accounts, ledgers, financial software and reporting systems ensuring policies and procedures are in compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
  • Supervise and oversee the finance team and operations, including the delegation of duties and performance management
  • Lead financial forecasting and cash flow management for the organization
  • Partner with the leadership team by assessing organizational performance against financial plans (both the annual budget and the organizations long-term needs and goals) and provide financial expertise for efforts to remediate identified deficiencies, shortfalls, or opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Development team and program staff to prepare budgets for proposals and meet grant requirements and reporting
  • Provide financial guidance and leadership for cross-departmental teams and projects
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to ensure strong systems for financial management and operations
  • Proactively maintain a strong financial controls environment maintaining fiduciary oversight by ensuring compliance with regulations, legal requirements, and policies
  • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements; monitor progress and changes and keep senior leadership abreast of the organizations financial status
  • Identify, analyze, and develop plans to address opportunities for setting the organization up for strong financial and operational health and process
  • Evaluate, identify, and implement opportunities for improved financial operations, recordkeeping, and reporting
  • Provide organizational financial oversight and monitoring and ensure that relevant financial data is presented to the Boards of Directors, CEO, and senior leadership team
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Understanding of financial GAAP for nonprofits.
  • Bachelors Degree Required.
  • Federal grant experience.
  • Extensive leadership experience.
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of successful finance standards.
  • Strong yet encouraging management style.
  • Analytical skills.
  • The ability to succeed and adjust in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Operate with high moral standards.
Compensation And BenefitsThis interim opportunity offers an hourly range of $68-$72/hr. In addition, this role offersmedical, dental, vision, and voluntary life insurance, an employee assistance plan (EAP), and commuter and transit benefits for those who are working on average 30 or more hours per week. An employee retirement plan is also available.
