OVERVIEW:As the Finance and Operations Director, you will report directly to the Executive Director and be a key member of the organizations senior management team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in nonprofit financial management and operations, including HR and IT, a proven track record of collaborating with board executives, and a strong commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Executive Director and senior management team to prepare the annual budget.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions, ensuring compliance and timely execution for accurate budget variance assessments.
• Develop and implement effective accounting policies and procedures to establish strong internal controls, facilitate reporting, and ensure financial responsibility.
• Oversee the Finance and Operations department and staff.
• Manage monthly and annual financial reporting.
• Participate actively as a key member of the Senior Management team, providing insights during Board meetings.
• Manage annual and programmatic audits as necessary.
• Identify and implement cost-saving measures.
• Ensure adherence to financial contractual reporting requirements and submit comprehensive monthly reports to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
• Manage and oversee staff payroll and budgeting.
• Ensure compliance with government regulations and human resources policies.
• Review and manage staff salaries to ensure competitive employee benefits.
• Oversee contract management.
• Oversee staff hiring and onboarding processes, including job description development, recruitment, and interviews.
• Evaluate and oversee employee career development and training processes.
• Manage IT and facilities operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Passion for conserving the environment!
• Bachelors degree required, masters degree a plus.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting.
• Minimum 5 years of nonprofit finance and operations leadership experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in organizational management.
• Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:The annual salary range for this position is $130-$155K (DOE), plus a comprehensive benefits package that includes fully paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, retirement plan contributions, employee assistance programs, generous PTO, and more!
