Job Title: Traveling Field Technician

Department: Field Operations

Supervisor: Field Operations Manager

Pay Range: $18-25/HR (DOE), plus Per Diem

Additional Compensation: Per Diem and on clock during travel

Summary

The Traveling Field Technician is responsible for providing service, customer support, managing the onsite installation, equipment repair/maintenance, diagnosing errors or technical problems, rigging & labor work, and operating the robot for sediment removal. We are looking for hard workers in the Houston area who want to learn, lead, and grow within our organization. Must not be afraid of heights, while being able to pass an extensive background check with drug testing. Also, must be willing to share a hotel with one other person. This position will travel approximately 90-95% of the time while working 10/Hr days, 7 days a week. Which includes work travel that ranges 1 to 8 weeks at a time, 2 weeks on average.

The Traveling Field Technician role is full-time, year-round, with overtime available. The annual cash compensation including overtime can range anywhere from $57,000 to $85,000. Additionally, you will receive Per Diem while traveling and hotels are paid for by the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following and other duties may be assigned:

· Build and maintain customer relations in the field to ensure excellent customer service and enhance the company’s image. Provide customer service and support during field visits.

· Produce timely and detailed service reports. Which must be legibly and accurately documented daily, according to company policy.

· Correctly set up, operate, and monitor cranes, trash pumps, generators, and cleaning robots.

· Assist with setting up and operating a suspended winch, while keeping the spool neat.

· Maintain gas-powered dewatering pumps.

· Diagnose issues and/or technical problems and help to determine proper solutions.

· Dewatering sludge using various company-approved methods.

· Clean and always maintain service vehicles. Ensure preventive maintenance is performed in a timely fashion.

· Keep work vehicles and trailers stocked with a sufficient supply of parts and tools.

· Safely operate company vehicles.

· Apply knowledge of products and seek additional training/education as appropriate.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no immediate supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent required.

6 months to 1-year of college (technical/vocational school preferred)

or

6 months to 1-year experience and/or training

or

an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Can read and interpret documents such as: safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Capable of speaking effectively with groups of customers or employees of our organization.

Mathematical Skills

Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure while using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Be able to compute rate, ratio, and percentage. Demonstrate the ability to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Exemplify the ability to apply common sense and the understanding to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Display the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and mobile devices.

Travel

This position will travel approximately 90-95% of the time while working 10/Hr days, 7 days a week. Which includes work travel that ranges 1 to 8 weeks at a time, 2 weeks on average. Travel in company vehicles and hotels are provided/paid. Therefore, you must be comfortable sharing a hotel room with a coworker. Per Diem is included, while working/driving. Must have your own reliable transportation to get to the shop and/or local jobs.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The use of hands to finger, handle or feel and the ability to reach with hands and arms is essential. It is common to climb, balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl while on a job. Field Technicians are frequently required to walk and are occasionally required to sit. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
