In business at the Lake of the Ozarks since 1954, locally-owned Scott's Concrete has a clear focus on customer service. Owner Jane Martin says, "Thank you to our customers for allowing us to serve the entire lake area since 1954. We are proud to have been active in the development of the Lake of the Ozarks region, as well as to participate in many charitable projects such as Habitat for Humanity. This is a local company that supports local projects." Martin's family settled in the Ozarks in the mid to late 1800s. After the creation of the Lake of the Ozarks and during the area's metamorphosis ...into a popular vacation destination, her father, Bob Scott, worked as an excavator. He saw the need for a concrete business for the lake area. He and wife, Jo Ellen Scott, then established the first location. In 1966, Martin became active in the family business, gaining the experience needed to become the sole owner and CEO of Scott's Concrete in 1997. This ready-mix concrete business serves the entire lake area with batch sites in Camdenton, Lake Ozark, and Climax Springs. "We have certified concrete technologists on staff, and we are happy to help with your concrete needs," Martin says. Recently, the third generation has become involved in the business, with Martin's son, Scott, joining the team.
