We are seeking a Speech Language Pathologist to join our team! You will evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
A. Education: Graduate degree of an accredited school of Speech Language Pathology.
B. Licensure: Licensed as a Speech Language Pathologist in the State of Texas.
C. Experience: One or more current years of experience preferred.
D. Physician and Mental Requirements: Duties of the position require extended periods of walking and
standing, bending, stooping, twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds. Occasional heavy lifting when moving or
supporting patients who may suddenly become weak or helpless. Bloodborne Pathogens Category I.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Evaluate and diagnose speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
B. Diagnose and treat speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders.
C. Provide training and education to patient, family, caregivers, and other professionals.
D. Develop and implement treatment and therapy plans to suit the individualized needs of the patient.
E. Provide aural rehabilitation for individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
F. Provide augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems for individuals with severe expressive
and/or language comprehension disorders, such as autism spectrum disorder or progressive neurological
disorders.
OTHER SIGNIFICANT REQUIREMENTS:
A. Maintains confidentiality while working with confidential matters on a daily basis.
B. Interacts with personnel on a continuous basis.
C. Follows safety and infection control policies and guidelines for the Hospital.
