Job Summary: 

SCOUT is seeking an innovative and talented digital leader with a proven track record of driving profitable e-commerce growth. This role requires a strategic thinker and implementer with a track record of rolling up their sleeves, making data-driven insights and developing strategic vision that moves the business forward. The right candidate will have developed DTC businesses in both small and large consumer product companies. Most importantly, they will be a strategic leader, excellent communicator and effective collaborator who can inspire teams and work cross-functionally to influence decisions and create alignment. The Senior Director’s primary responsibilities will be designing and executing acquisition and retention strategies within the online channels, while managing the P&L and aligning with company goals. They will be tasked with providing site optimization strategies and designing an engaging and effective website that helps our users easily convert online. They will also be responsible for our marketplace strategy inclusive of Amazon. The Senior Director of E-commerce is a newly developed, key leadership role and will serve on the Executive leadership team, driving the brand goals, decisions and direction across the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and drive a strategic roadmap for e-commerce along with annual/quarterly performance plans including revenue, gross profit, operating expense and media budget.
  • Generate, implement, and analyze innovative sales, promotional, and marketing strategies to increase sales and profitability across all platforms. 
  • Key direct responsibilities include overseeing paid marketing, lifecycle/retention marketing and media agency management. 
  • Develop & implement site optimization roadmap to drive conversion, AOV and AUS. Oversee site operations, A/B testing strategy and site merchandising. 
  • Own the online customer journey and analytics, defining specific landmarks in the funnel, identifying highest value segments, and executing programs that push for deeper customer engagement, increase conversion/retention, and drive revenue.
  • Define the marketplace strategy for the brand inclusive of Amazon and any additional platforms.
  • In partnership with the merchandise planning team, define the assortment needs, site merchandising plan and opportunities for growth.
  • Manage and develop a team of 4 driven, highly engaged individuals across site operations, analytics and sales.
  • Lead business analysis with team to disseminate sales reports regularly.

Knowledge, Skill, and Experience: 

Required

  • A minimum of 10 years of proven experience managing e-commerce and digital marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with expertise in digital analytics, marketing attribution, and testing/optimization disciplines
  • Ability to translate offline brand vision to the online channel and execute strategies that lead the company consistently towards that vision
  • Experience working with Amazon in 1P or 3P relationship
  • Extensive experience with Shopify, Google Analytics, Google AdWords, SEO, and paid social
  • Experience working with and managing third-party vendors and products
  • Proven leadership and ability to influence, work across the organization, and lead with passion
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience with a consumer products brand

Preferred

  • Experience with NetSuite, ERP 

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Continuous standing, walking, and sitting throughout the day. 
  • Travel required, including the possibility of some out of state. 
  • Some light lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required
  • Continuous typing and viewing of a computer screen may be required. 
  • Must be able to manage high stress situations calmly and effectively.
